"Art Mix" is a multicultural art enrichment program designed to reach students in seven geographically and culturally distinct elementary schools in Yolo County including the deaf and hearing impaired and the emotionally disturbed special needs students of the Yolo County Office of Education. The program emphasis is to integrate a standards- aligned, culturally-based art lessons through drawing, painting, ceramics and dance from different cultures including Latino, African, Native American and Asian cultures.

The program's emphasis is to interpret stories through art providing a means for students and their teachers to learn more about these four art disciplines from Yolo County artists. Students will gain artistic confidence as well as the opportunity to develop, apply and fine tune their artistic skills while teachers learn modeling concepts on the integration of the visual and performing art into the school curriculum.  This program is currently being delivered to several schools in Yolo County.

This program is funded in part by the Yocha Dehe Community Fund, U.S. Bankcorp Foundation, The Kelly Foundation, YoloArts members and school partners.
