"Artist in Schools" is an in-depth, standard based ceramic art education program for students K-12th grade. The program strives to provide art education to underserved, low income students across the county. Under the direct instruction of professional artists students aquire valuable knowledge and skills in ceramic art for up to 12 weeks. Professional artists model for classroom teachers an interdisciplinary approach to classroom curriculum, equipping them to continue the use of ceramics throughout the school year. YoloArts has successfully administered this ceramic art program in local schools since 1994 in partnership with Yolo Schools and the California Arts Council.

CALLING ALL HIGH SCHOOL ARTISTS
YoloArts is calling all Yolo County high school artists for the 27th session of the California State Summer School for the Arts (CSSSA). CSSSA offers a rigorous pre-professional training program in the visual and performing arts, creative writing, animation, and film for talented artists of high school age. Each summer only 500 students are selected from a statewide competitive admissions process. Through the years, Yolo County has been well represented by high school art scholars.
