YoloArts in partnership with the Sacramento Blues Society provides their program Blues in the Schools (BITS) to several Yolo County public schools. The BITS program provides special opportunities to educate youth in the area in order to teach the historical significance of Blues music and its ongoing impact on American and world culture. BITS strives to bring musicians, educators, storytellers, and other performeres together to assist each other in teaching students about Blues music and culture.

Working with music and history teachers, lectures followed by live musical performances are conducted at area schools. Students are able to hear first hand a distinctly American form of music and engage in a musicial jam session with professional blues players.

BITS is funded by a grant from the Target Foundation and YoloArts members.
